Here are some ways to speed up my Windows:
> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Lessen the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Choose the Effects tab. Unchoose the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting Properties, choosing the Appearance tab, clicking the Effects option and uncheck Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Click OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by cleaning out the programs you dont need at start-up. For Windows 98 users, you can do this through going to Start and clicking Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button select the Start up tab then unmark the softwares you choose to stopthroughout the startup. As you see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you decrease the programs and applications that your computer needs to wake up.
> Defrag may be an old school process but it doesnt fail to help anyone who has speed problems. Find the defrag option under your System Tools menu from the Accessories or Start Tab. Be sure that you provide a time for defragging. Operating different applications while on defrag restricts the process itself.
> Selecting to install your applications is recommended if you usually experience errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. Also, be sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Installing again your program takes at least an hour or so
> Removing programs that you do not use. Programs, whether you are utilizing them or not, eat up space in your hard disk. If you arent making use of them, then is there still a need to keep them?
